Ar-Togrul Kamalov

Togrul Kamalov, son of Budag, was born on October 1, 1990, in the Goshasu village of the Lachin region. In 1996, he entered the first grade of the H. Gorchuyev School in the Safiyan village of the Lachin region (Pirekeshkul town, Absheron region) and successfully completed the school in 2007, he graduated a "Distinction" diploma.

In 2008, Togrul studied in the faculty of "Drama, Theater, and Film Acting" at Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, completing his bachelor's degree with a "Distinction" diploma in 2012.

From 2010 to 2015, he started working as a dramatic artist at the Yug State Theater. Upon the assignment of the Ministry of Culture, in 2015-2016, Togrul Kamalov was appointed as the chief director of the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater located in Derbent, Republic of Dagestan.

Continuing his activities as a dramatic actor at Yug State Theater from 2016 to 2017, Togrul has been engaged in individual creative projects since 2017, participating in various projects with diverse content.

Since 2020, he has been working as the founding director of the Academic Musical Theater. Under his leadership, a performance titled " Psyche" was staged based on the motifs of Miguel de Cervantes' world-famous novel "Don Quixote." The premiere of the performance took place on April 29, 2022.
