The Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater, which always attracts the interest of theatergoers with its interesting projects, successfully completed 2024. The art center, which has a unique and rich repertoire policy, premiered 10 performances of various genres last year.
The premieres of the plays “The Fixer” (Vasif Adigozalov, Anar, production director Asgar Asgarov), “The Chamber” (Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, staged by B. Osmanov, production director Er-Togrul), “My Woman” (Tunjar Cucenoghlu, production director Irada Gozalova), “Aligulu is getting married today” (O. Rajabov, Sabit Rahman, libretto author and production director Ilham Namig Kamal), “Isedora” (Zinovi Sagalov, production director Javid Imamverdiyev), “Telegram from the Killer” (Parviz Seyidli, production director Zaur Aliyev), “I Believe” (Ulviyya Heydarova, director Leonid Klets) were sold out.
“Two Witches” (Ali Alizadeh, Tatyana Karelina, Roman Sef, production director Ahad Hajiyev), which was produced in both Azerbaijani and Russian languages.
And as a New Year's gift, the performances “Home Alone” (based on the film of the same name by Chris Columbus, directed by Zaur Aliyev) were also presented to young theater lovers.
It should be noted that the play “Aligulu is getting married today” was presented on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of People's Artist Ilham Namig Kamal, awarded the Order of “Glory”.
The creative staff of the theater participated in international events held in various countries, as well as domestic tours, with their new performances, and were awarded awards in certain nominations.
“Isedora” was successfully demonstrated at the 28th “Belaya Veja” International Theater Festival held in Brest, Belarus, and the monoplay “Telegram from the Killer” was successfully demonstrated at the 9th International Theater Festival of Central Asian Countries held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. The play “My Woman” was presented both at the 16th “Thousand Breaths, One Voice” Theater Festival held in Konya, Turkey, and on the stage of the Ganja State Philharmonic.
