The third meeting of the Board of Directors of Opera and Ballet Theaters of TURKSOY member countries was held in Ankara

Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater, Honored Art Worker, Doctor of Philosophy, Aligismat Lalayev, represented our country at the events held by the International Organization of Turkish Culture (TURKSOY) within the XXV Opera Days.

On Wednesday, September 25, the third meeting of the Board of Directors of Opera and Ballet Theaters of TURKSOY member countries was held in the building of the General Secretariat of the International Organization of Turkish Culture (TURKSOY) in Ankara.

Then, the director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater, Honored Art Worker Aligismat Lalayev drew the attention of the event participants to the rich history and great experience of the art of theater, opera and ballet in Azerbaijan. He reminded that the first female composer in the East was Shafiga Akhundova, a representative of Azerbaijan, and added that her 100th anniversary will be celebrated with a gala concert on the stage of the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Theater. At the event, opera singers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will perform in front of Turkish music lovers.

Aligismat Lalayev emphasized the importance of further deepening the cooperation in the field of culture between the Turkish states, and said that Azerbaijan's cultural figures are always open to contacts with their colleagues from brotherly countries.
