The 85th anniversary of Emin Sabitoglu was celebrated at the Academic Musical Theater

The next performance of the musical comedy "Once upon a time in Baghdad" (E. Sabitoglu, V. Kalmonovski) at the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the outstanding composer, People's Artist Emin Sabitoglu.

Before the performance, the well-known TV journalist, Honored cultural worker Telli Panahgizi and the head of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, professor, Honored art worker Kamila Dadashzade spoke about the composer's life and creative activity.

Everyone welcomed the performance, attended by well-known cultural and artistic figures of the republic, media representatives, as well as the composer’s family members.

The premiere of this musical comedy, created by the director, Honored Art Worker Asgar Asgarov, was presented to theatergoers on October 18, 2018, in the Russian section of the theater.

Although the events in the work take place in Baghdad, during the reign of Caliph Harun al-Rashid, the idea of the play resonates with modern times.

The theater’s beloved actors, Honored artists Boris Grafkin, Svetlana Bulakh, Saida Sharifaliyeva, actors Firus Mammadov, Rauf Babayev, Mehriban Zaliyeva, Nadezhda Povelitsina, Telnaz Huseynova, Alimammad Novruzov, Hidayat Aliyev, Murad Aliyev, and Ali Karimov, played the roles in the play.
