A meeting was held at the Iranian Cultural Center with the staff of the Academic Musical Theater

 

Gurbanali Purmarjan - Chairman of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan met with a group of members of the creative staff of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater, who successfully performed at the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival.

Director of the Academic Musical Theater, Honored Art Figure, Doctor of Philosophy - Aligismat Lalayev, the coordinator of the theater on international projects, Doctor of Philosophy in Art History - Rajab Mammadov and Honored Artists: Shovgi Huseynov, Nahida Orujova; actors: Guljahan Salamova, Gulnara Abdullayeva, Samad Khasiyev and director Samir Gulamov attended the event.

The chairman of the Iranian Cultural Center congratulated wished all the best for the theater staff on their successful participation in such a prestigious international event as Fajr. While mentioning importance of cultural ties between the two countries, Purmarjan gave details about the importance of the theater's participation in the festival against the background of the restrictions created by the recent pandemic.

Aligismat Lalayev thanked Gurbanali Purmarjan for the warm welcome and kind words addressed to the theater, noting the importance of the 112-year-old Musical Theater's visit to Iran, as well as the benefits of mutual relations. The well-known director expressed satisfaction with the high attention and interest shown to the Azerbaijani theater, history and culture in Tehran, as well as spoke about the memorable moments of past festivals.

The main topic of discussion was the musical drama "Like aBreath" (based on the play by director Samir Gulamov) and the mono-performance of the same name based on the fantastic story "The Meek" (directed by People's Artist Jannat Salimova) by world-famous playwright Fyodor Dostoevsky. .

During noting that the festival was organized at a high level, Lalayev said he hopes to introduce Iranian theater lovers the pearls of Azerbaijani theater in Tabriz, Uremia and Ardabil in the future.

Honored artist Shovgi Huseynov said that the mono-performance presented in the festival was met with sympathy of audience in Tehran, and in general, he returned with a good impression from the visit.
