UNESCO approved the project of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater

UNESCO approved the project of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical TheaterThe "Inclusive Theater Project" of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater was accepted by the United Nations’ Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization –UNESCO, within the "Participation Program for 2020-2021 on the activities of Member States". The Secretariat-General of UNESCO has given its recommendations to the representative office of the international organization in Azerbaijan to monitor the implementation of this project. The main goal of the project is to implicate children with hearing and speech disabilities, as well as adolescents and young people in art in the country. The creative specialists of the Academic Musical Theater will hold classes in acting, dance, body language and other areas, and finally prepare a theatrical performance with the participation of these children. The head of the project, director of the Academic Musical Theater, Honored Art Figure, Doctor of Philosophy in Art Criticism Aligismat Lalayev said: "Comprehensive development, social rehabilitation, inculcation of necessary skills and knowledge of children with disabilities is a priority for our state. In recent years, along with the social security of such children, numerous projects have been implemented to attract them to art, to reveal their talents and abilities. Our theater has repeatedly been a participant and organizer of such projects. However, unfortunately, children with hearing and speech impairments are excluded from certain projects for some objective reasons. Taking into account such cases, we decided to unite this category of children, adolescents and young people around an inclusive theater studio created under our theater. Our studio can be an irreplaceable tool for the involvement of these people in artistic creation, mastering the means of expression of theater, dance, circus and other arts, the formation of their artistic taste, the discovery of their talents, and the enrichment of their spiritual worlds. The rehearsals will be conducted by experienced actors of our theater. Due to the current pandemic situation in the world, as well as in our country, our project will be implemented online, in most cases, on the basis of the requirements and recommendations of the Ministry of Culture and the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers. I hope that this work that approved by UNESCO as an international project, will soon prove itself, gather many talented young people around it and this team will worthily represent our country in future festivals around the world.
