A new Chief Director was appointed to the Academic Musical Theater

Well-known director Javid Imamverdiyev has been appointed Chief Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater by the relevant order of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan - A.Kerimov. General Manager of the Academic Musical Theater, Honored Art Figure, Doctor of Philosophy Aligismat Lalayev informed the theater staff about this at an extensive online meeting via Zoom, and wished success to the newly appointed chief director and conveyed his recommendations. He mentioned that despite all the difficulties caused by the recent pandemic and other reasons, the theater's creative staff has been working harder on new projects, and expressed confidence that the theater's creative path will continue successfully under the leadership of the chief director. J. Imamverdiyev expressed his gratitude for the trust shown to him: "This appointment is an example of trust and confidence in me, it increases my responsibility. I promise to justify this confidence and to spare no effort with the team I work with. Today, I feel very happy as a member of the Academic Musical Theater family. During the last year of my work here, I felt the attention and care of the theater management over the whole team. I also believe that I will adhere to those principles and successfully complete the work we have started. Thank you". It should be noted that Imamverdiyev Javid Sudeyf oglu was born on June 28, 1972 in Baku. In 1994, he graduated from Baku State University, Faculty of Philology, and then the "Higher Director” course in Moscow. He is one of the founders of the "Guys from Baku" team, and as a result of his successful work in this field, he won the Champions Cup in 1995 and the champion of the twentieth century in 2000. In 2007-2020, he worked as the director and artistic director of the "Memory" Documentary Film Studio of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He has organized anniversaries, memorial evenings and concert programs in our country, opening ceremonies of many International Film Festivals, including the "East-West” International Film Festival, concert programs of Azerbaijani artists in different countries and dozens of other public events. J.Imamverdiyev also participated in the shooting of most of the films included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List by Azerbaijan on behalf of the Ministry of Culture as a director and producer. He has directed events dedicated to the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Cuba, Mexico (2010) and the United States (2011). He staged a play on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theater, and also worked as a video installation director on stage productions produced at this theater. He has been the President of the Baku Author's Songs Club since 1997 and the organizer of the Baku International Festival of Author's Songs and Poetry since 2007 with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2016, by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, he was awarded the "Medal of Progress” for his achievements in the field of culture. He was awarded the "Humay” National Prize three times at different times.
